Pilot terms

Agreement and eligibility

These terms govern the OpenSteering pilot provided by Hokia Labs, Inc. You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for the organization using the service. A signed pilot order form or data agreement controls if it conflicts with these online terms.

The service

OpenSteering turns customer policies and contrastive examples into steering artifacts for open models, evaluates behavior, and provides managed API access. The pilot is evolving and may have downtime, changing latency, model limitations, or incomplete features. An attestation is evidence from a defined test suite, not a certification or guarantee of every future output.

Your data and artifacts

You retain ownership of your inputs, policies, examples, corrections, and customer content. As between you and Hokia Labs, you own the customer-specific steering artifact created from those materials, subject to the license and terms of the underlying open model. You grant us the limited rights needed to process those materials and operate, secure, evaluate, and support your deployment. We retain our platform, evaluation methods, software, and general know-how.

Acceptable use

You will not use the service unlawfully; infringe rights; submit data you lack authority to process; bypass keys, rate limits, or security controls; probe other customers; distribute malware; or use model output as a substitute for required professional judgment. You are responsible for your application, notices, consents, human review, and compliance obligations, including any obligations for children, health, finance, employment, or other regulated uses.

Fees and usage

Pilot pricing and included work are set in the applicable order form. The gateway meters successful input and output tokens by model. Dashboard amounts are estimates until invoiced. You must protect API keys and promptly rotate a key you believe is compromised.

Confidentiality

Each party will use the other's non-public information only for the pilot and protect it with reasonable care. This does not cover information that is public without breach, independently developed, already known without restriction, or lawfully received from another source.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend access for security risk, unlawful use, material breach, or unpaid amounts. Either party may end an unpaid pilot on written notice unless an order form says otherwise. On termination you can request export of your customer-specific artifact; we may delete service copies after resolving outstanding obligations.

Disclaimers and liability

The pilot is provided as available without warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. Model outputs can be inaccurate, unsafe, biased, or inconsistent and require appropriate testing and oversight. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, or consequential damages. Each party's aggregate liability under the pilot is limited to fees paid or payable for the pilot during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, except where a limitation is prohibited by law or an order form states otherwise.
